Kate: [They are] pretty closely related because I bring in characters, some of my original characters, I'll stick them in my fan fiction stories when I need a character for padding or, um, I deal with some of the same themes sometimes.

Kevin: Like can you give me an example?

Kate: Um, okay, like in my Treasure Planet [fan fiction] story there's um a guy named Claredon, who is this rich guy that, um, Jim and company end up working for in the part I'm working on now. And he's actually from a science fiction story I'm working on. But, I like needed, I needed a planet for them to go to and so I thought "Well I'll turn the city where the story is set into a planet and let then go there" just because it was already made up.
