This prototype timeline for the DALN graphically depicts the span of years to which contributors indicated their stories refer. The top band provides an abstract overview of the number of narratives that cover particular spans of time. The lower band contains blue "tapes" for each narrative, stretching over the period it covers. Each band is identified near its start by the title of the narrative, the name of the author, and the author's year of birth. Clicking on that information reveals a balloon containing a link to the narrative in the DALN. Currently, scrolling the mouse wheel or clicking and dragging scrolls the timeline left and right. The browser window's scrollbar allows you to scroll up and down.
