This clip actually carries out the power of that “developer”/user between space that Warren was striving for (in the previous clip)—although its subject (a Korean deaf graduate student) does not know it at the time of her articulation of it. The internet “opening my world” moment that she so buoyantly expresses was, in fact, actually brought to her by none other than … a deaf man. For the “Father of the Internet,” the person who “invented” the ITP protocol is Vinton Cerf, a deaf/hard-of-hearing man, who once articulated for the Wall Street Journal that his deafness had everything to do with his ability and desire to create a technology that would better equalize both he social and informational playing field for deaf people.[6]
