Book overview. This edited collection explores theoretical and practical questions about multimodal, digital production through lenses of rhetoric/composition, digital writing studies, English studies, and the humanities.
Abstract. The New Work of Composing creates new communicative possibilities for text, writer, and audience in the contexts of authorship and authority. The chapters within the “Authors and Authority” theme reveal how digital and multimedia composition have allowed authors to become active participants who serve as makers of knowledge and content rather than passive receivers. They believe that good writing is “writing that makes something happen in the world.”.
