Racism exists. Plain and simple. No ifs, buts, or ands. It exists. Now I know that you have all heard this before, and I am sure that most of you are probably shaking your head or softly speaking to yourself and saying yes . . . yes . . . yes, I agree. To these people, the majority of you, I say stop doing this. I want you to really listen. I mean I really, really want you to listen to what I am about to say. I don’t need yes-women or yes-men who agree with me. I want people—allies—to listen, give up some of their privilege, and change things.
