About the Authors

Jennifer Marlow

Jennifer Marlow is an Associate Professor of English at The College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY. She teaches courses in composition, creative nonfiction, and digital media. Her research interests include educational technology and digital pedagogies for the writing classroom, hybrid forms of (nonfiction) writing, and labor practices in higher education. Her work is published in Journal of Interactive Technology and Pedagogy and Forum. She co-produced/directed the documentary film Con Job: Stories of Adjunct and Contingent Labor, published by Computers and Composition Digital Press. Her poetry is published in Paterson Literary Review, Meteor Shower Over the City of God and Other Poems, and Voices of Michigan.

James P. Purdy

James P. Purdy is Associate Professor of English/Writing Studies and Director of the University Writing Center at Duquesne University, where, in 2016, he received the Presidential Award for Excellence in Teaching. In addition to publishing in numerous scholarly journals and edited volumes, he has co-edited four books, most recently Making Space: Writing Instruction, Infrastructure, and Multiliteracies (University of Michigan Press) with Dànielle DeVoss. His most recent book is The Effects of Intellectual Property Law in Writing Studies: Ethics, Sponsors, and Academic Knowledge-Making (Routledge), co-written with Karen J. Lunsford.

Nikolas Schmidt

Nikolas Schmidt is a graduate student studying computer science at Duquesne University. He completed his undergraduate studies at Duquesne in 2019 with a B.S. in computer science, B.A. in English with a concentration in writing, as well minors in French and mathematics.
